Our figure skating programs offer professional coaching to help skaters at all levels improve their technique and performance. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, you’ll find focused, skill-building sessions designed to help you progress.
Freestyle is a time for figure skating practice only for skaters who have completed Basic 6 and above.
Skaters will be able to use their punch card in 15 minute increments for Freestyle sessions each week.
Kelsey is a lifelong resident of Overland Park, graduating from Blue Valley West High School, just across the street from the Bluhawk facility. Her passion for figure skating began at the age of 12 after being inspired by the Olympics; she went on to test and compete as a soloist through the Intermediate level, where she enjoyed several years on a traveling synchronized skating team, earning a Gold Medal in Moves in the Field. While still a teenager, Kelsey’s love for the ice rink led her to begin teaching and working at a local rink. For several years, she balanced coaching with her own skating and judging competitions, becoming well-respected in the figure skating community.
Following a nearly ten-year career in law enforcement, Kelsey returned to her passion for figure skating professionally. Kelsey’s creativity shined through her choreography of countless programs and ice shows, where she also coached skaters toward local competitions.
Sharon is a National & International coach. As a head coach with USFSA she has produced National medalists in Singles and Pairs at the Intermediate through Senior level at the US National Championships and various International competitions. She is a USFS Gold Medalist, USFS Senior Accredited coach and Level V National & International PSA Ranking Level. She brings her vast experience in figure skating to the Bluhawk Learn to Skate Academy program. Silver Blades FSC of KC is an active and energetic figure skating club with members throughout the Greater Kansas City area. Our mission is to be a leader in the sport and art of figure skating by challenging each member to achieve one’s highest potential and personal goals. As part of this mission we support our members with coordination of Club Ice, Training Classes, and Testing sessions as well as access to various seminars and social activities throughout the year.
