THE BLUHAWK SKATING ACADEMY

Bluhawk Skating Academy is operated through Learn to Skate USA. Classes are designed to give new skaters of any age a strong foundation of skills needed to be successful on the ice, whether they want to continue into figure skating or hockey.

Looking to enroll your skater in a class? Find the perfect fit below! We’ve listed class options by age range. New skaters will begin with Level One within their age group. For example, a 7-year-old who’s new to skating will start in Basic Skills 1.

 

Snowplow Sam: Ages 3.5-5

Basic Skills 1-6: Ages 6-14

Pre-Free – Freeskate 6: Ages 5+

Must have complete Basic Skills 1-6

Adult Basic Skills 1-6: Ages 14+

SHARON BRILLIANTINE

Sharon is a National & International coach. As a head coach with USFSA she has produced National medalists in Singles and Pairs at the Intermediate through Senior level at the US National Championships and various International competitions. She is a USFS Gold Medalist, USFS Senior Accredited coach and Level V National & International PSA Ranking Level. She brings her vast experience in figure skating to the Bluhawk Learn to Skate Academy program. If a skater does not have a Learn to Skate membership number, they will NOT be added to the class until a membership is obtained. This may result in the loss of a skater’s class spot. All memberships must be up to date by the first class date.

Yes, you can watch the class. However, please remember that your skater learns best when you watch them from the arena seating behind the glass. We do not allow parents to view from the player’s benches or the doors onto the ice surface.

  • Gloves (water resistant)
  • Warm clothing – sweat pants/athletic pants, layering for tops – long sleeve shirt, jacket/sweatshirt
  • If you would like your skater to wear a helmet, that must be brought from home. Helmets are not required for class.

The cost of registration includes skate rental (if needed) during your skater’s class time.

Due to our ice rink schedule, there will be NO makeup classes for this session. If you miss a class, it is suggested to attend a public skating session on your own to practice your skills.

  • A full refund of a class session will be provided if requested before the first class takes place. Any credit card fees are non-refundable.
  • Once classes have begun for a session, if a request to drop the session is made, a refund of the remaining classes will be granted. Any credit card fees are non-refundable.
